The Foss Dental Program
The Foss Dental Clinic is currently closed to on-site community services.
The Foss dental program began, in the early 1980s, as a clinical training site for University of Washington dental students who were interested in geriatric dentistry. In February 1991, Foss received a $39,000 grant from Washington Dental Service Foundation, for upgraded equipment and expansion. At this same time, the University of Washington donated chairs and dental lights. With the 1991 expansion and modernization, the square footage of the clinic space was expanded from 255 square feet to 612 square feet. In addition, all the supportive systems and equipment were either added or updated. This remodel allowed Foss to serve a greater number of residents, and offer more services. Through this training program, there was a desire to interest more dental students toward geriatric dentistry.
Full Service Dental Clinic
The clinic is full service and has 3 dental chairs – 2 with wheelchair lifts, full X-ray capability and the ability to provide all dental services:
- Cleaning
- Fillings
- Extractions
- Crowns
- Dentures
Leading – Edge Care & Services Award
In June, 2017 Foss won the Leading – Edge Care & Services award from LeadingAge Washington. Foss won for the dental clinic program. Some of the awards criteria is:
