President and Chief Executive Officer
Kevin is the President & CEO at Foss Home and Village. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI and a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from George Washington University, Washington, DC.
He is passionate about serving seniors and has been actively involved with LeadingAge, LeadingAge Washington, Lutheran Services in America and other civic minded organizations in various roles. He currently serves as the Chair of the Life Plan Community Cabinet for LeadingAge Washington, working to advocate effectively on behalf of seniors. Kevin and his wife Cindy enjoy traveling the world and cheering for their four children on volleyball courts, basketball courts, baseball fields and beyond.
Chief Financial Officer
David is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and has been with Foss for about a year, coming to Foss as part of the new partnership with eliseo. He received his accounting degree and MBA from St. Martin’s University. David also served in the military for four years as a tank gunner and reconnaissance scout.
David appreciates that eliseo and Foss share their mission and values. The Foss employees and residents make being part of the Foss family meaningful.
In his spare time, David enjoys golfing, playing softball and spending time with his four children.
Director of Human Resources
Andrew is the Director of Human Resources at Foss. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana majoring in business, with a concentration in management. He has been working in Human Resources ever since, in private, public, and healthcare sectors.
In his spare time, he enjoys being active and exploring the great outdoors with his wife and dog. Andrew enjoys all things sports and is an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and Brentford F.C.
Andrew chose to work at Foss because “Foss is a family and being able to care for our wonderful residents and work alongside the best staff has been so rewarding.”
Jim Steinruck, MBA, LFACHE, LNHA
Interim Nursing Home Administrator
Jim is currently the “Interim” Administrator at Foss Home and Village and has been with Foss since February 2022. Jim is the preceptor to Laura Molzahn who is Foss’ Administrator in Training (AIT). Jim will stay with Foss until at least September, 2022, at which time Laura will test and obtain her Nursing Home Administrators license and become the permanent Administrator.
Jim, is a native Seattleite, born and raised in the Crown Hill neighborhood and graduated from Shoreline High School. After retiring as a U.S. Army Medical Service Corps Officer, Jim and his wife have resided in Lake Stevens for the past 30 years. For the past 10 years Jim has served as one of the Fire Commissioners for Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue.
Jim spends his spare time spoiling his 5 grandchildren!
Laura is currently the Assistant Administrator, and is planning on taking the appropriate testing in September, at which time Laura will become Foss’ Nursing Home Administrator. Laura began her career at Foss 34 years ago, working in the kitchen and in 2001 become the Culinary Director. Laura has an A.A.S in Culinary Arts from Seattle Central, is a Certified Dietary Manager and holds a B.A. in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the Art Institute.
Foss has been in Laura’s family since her great grandparents were residents 55 years ago, and more recently, her 17-year-old daughter contributing art work for the Foss Farmers Market.
When Laura is not at Foss she enjoys hot yoga, live music, and fantasy football.
Katherine Newman, RN, BSN
Director Nursing Services
Katherine is Foss’ Director of Nursing. After receiving her AAAS degree in Nursing as a Registered Nurse from Shoreline Community College, she went on to get her Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Washington. Katherine has been involved in long term nursing care for 30 years. In addition to Foss, she was the Director of Nursing at three other long term care facilities.
As Director of Nursing, Katherine is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Nursing Care systems; as well as overseeing coordination of staffing for optimum coverage to provide quality care to our residents. “I lead a team of highly qualified Nurse managers and adjunct staff. Foss is where my mother spent the last 2 years of her life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work at Foss Home and Village.”
Irene Sumi, RN
Assisted Living Director
Irene is the Director of Foss Village, Foss’ Assisted Living. After graduating from Shoreline College and working as a Registered Nurse in other settings, Irene found she wanted to have more time with individuals in her care. While working as a nurse in long term care at Foss Home, and subsequently Foss Village Assisted Living, Irene has enjoyed making planned, positive steps to enhance residents’ well-being. Irene has been with Foss for over 27 years, and looks forward to continuing the heritage of excellent care found in every aspect of Foss Home and Village.
Irene enjoys camping/spending time with friends and family in the beautiful Cascade Mountains, and the Washington/Oregon coasts.
