Assisted Living

Bring the Best of Your Life to Foss home and village

Dignity means supportive living in a neighborhood setting that promotes independence, choice and privacy. At Foss Village, you can bring the best of your life and we are here to help with the things that have become more challenging.

Our assisted living village, located in North Seattle, is designed like a home not a hotel or apartment building. Surrounding an expansive, park-like grassy courtyard, our cottages offer private apartments with specially trained staff to provide services that are individually tailored to meet your needs. The assisted living Village staff has an average of 9 years of service, providing assistance to the Foss residents, with key management averaging over 20 years.

The Foss Village Difference

The Foss Village difference starts with the not-for-profit culture.  Every action, of every day, is resident focused.  Here are some examples of what makes life at Foss unique:

  •  A resident rises at 9:30 in the morning. He will have breakfast made to order, after his first cup of coffee. Two scrambled eggs, fruit and toast…or maybe a waffle with strawberries.
  • An outing to the library, to get the latest thriller, is just across the street.
  • There is nothing like planting seedlings in the spring, and harvesting cucumbers, tomatoes, and pumpkins throughout the summer and fall. And then, getting to carve the pumpkins right before Halloween.

Foss also has a unique restorative program. A dedicated staff member works with residents on an individually created OT/PT program. This restorative program provides residents the opportunity to work on their strength, balance and stamina on a regular schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens as a resident develops a need for more care?
As a resident ages in place, and their care needs change or increase, they are assessed by the assisted living nursing staff to re-evaluate their service plan. If the resident’s care needs exceed the services the Village can provide, they have priority for moving to Long Term Care, Memory Support, or another appropriate care setting.

Is Foss Village pet-friendly?
Residents may bring a cat, (or) small dog and certain other small pets such as a bird to live with them, as long as the resident and/or family can care for the pet. Pets are also welcomed as visitors, once approved by Foss staff.

Does Foss Village accept Medicaid/DSHS/COPES?
Residents are asked to pay privately for two years, prior to Medicaid conversion.

Are there restrictions on visiting residents?
Guests may visit any time.  We ask that when visiting, consideration is shown for the other residents living in the Village.
